You will see that the photos from this jewelry photography are kinda for the catalog and boring.. so plain.. but you can use all information on how to setting everything to create your own photographs that more uniques and represent your artistic to your products.. Most online sellers know that the Most Important factors to make their shops success is Product Photography. The reason behinds this is so simple.. if the photos are not good, they aren't attracting customers to see their products. Especially when those sellers don't have the real shops for customers to come by to see the real products. Photos are the only way to tell customers how good their products are.

Since I'm a jewelry seller, I'm looking for how to photograph the jewelry specifically.. so I will share with you the How-to Video Series that I'm learning from them. The photographer in the video is Michael Seto. He has been taking pictures for 25 years and works as a freelance photographer in NYC. The reason that I share his videos because they are easy to understand and have samples of the photos he took in the video to show the results too and also he started from picking the camera and lens.. and advice the accessories that necessary for Jewelry Photography.

I will skip the videos about how to choose camera and lenses because the camera he used is the professional camera and I think if you know how to set the light.. the compact camera can be used too.. and the new compact cameras in the market right now have a great specification equal some DSLR.

I try to make a new look of my first item photo before I make a new banner to match the new style of the photo. I use Photoscape to help me make a new style of photo which I kinda love it. What do you think??

Half of you will see one look and another will see another look. I use lazzia.com to test which one is more attractive for people to click on it but anyway, I still need your opinions. Tell me what you think. :D

I was busy to work on something for living.. not what I love.. but sometimes you have to choose to work on something that can pay your rent, your credit card.. It's real life, isn't it?

Now the local business that I started couple months ago is stable and I kinda know to manage the time for other businesses.. so I'm back to what I love.. Jewelry Making.. :D

I'm still working on the overall look of my shop in Etsy.com.. since it's online shop, customers don't see how my real product is.. how beautiful they are.. so the only thing that can help is the (damn) great photographs.. I just got a new camera from my brother.. it's his old camera but the specification of this camera is way better than my Dad's camera that I used. So I hope this camera will be more helpful.

Another thing that I'm thinking of is the way to show the product in the photos.. the angle.. the prospective.. if you're familiar with Etsy, you will know I mean the way to be on "the front page".. Since I have 3 shops, I got more statistics about people featured my products on their treasuries.. the most popular items that been featured from 3 shops are my Origami Flowers.. with colorful objects on the white background.. so how can I use this information to help other shops' photos.. still not sure.. but I have to find out..

While I was working on my local business last couple months, I think about making new banner for my jewelry shop again.. yes again.. the reason behind this is that the new platform of Etsy.. on my front page.. made me to re-think about my banner again.. I love my recent banner but with the new layout of Etsy shop.. I want something that more simple and something that easy to remember.. catch the eye.. and match my Blue Aqua product background.. I will work on that and create a new one.. :D

Just something in my mind..

Can't believe it's already half month that I didn't post anything in here.. I was and still be busy with another business and the house problem with termites.. No time and no creativity for new jewelry design.. In fact I have so many items that haven't listing in my Etsy shop.. many simple design earrings.. but I have a plan in mind that I will change the whole style and make a new look in my shop for next year.. which I will re-create the new jewelry from the old jewelry that I made.. The only problem that I can think of right now is the camera.. since the one I'm using is my Dad's camera that he bought long time ago and its battery holder is broken I have to use three rubber bands to attach the batt. lid to the body so I can use it, if not the batteries will come out.. anyway, this camera is not the good quality or meet my specification needs.. when you photo shoot the jewelry or the small thing you need the camera with the good macro feature which my camera is not that good.. however, I don't have enough money to buy the one I want so I think I have to think about this problem later.. and focus on the new look of my shop that I want..

Since my first starting, I wanted my shop to be a bridal jewelry shop but I was lost on the way in the new business that I had zero experience and try to do what I think it will be sold.. I lost a little bit of myself through time.. and finally don't have the spirit or passion to create new jewelry coz the only thing in my mind was no sale in this shop even how much I work on it.. I lost my confidence.. and then focus on something that can make money for me..

During I am posting these, I'm kinda tired and sleepy the first idea that I want to post in here is that I want to inform that I will try my best to blog daily but it's just the same old story that I always use in here.. to lie to myself that I do the best to the reader but it's not..

I know that when the frequent of your blogging is less people won't be interested to read in your blog.. so I have to be honest to myself first.. then I've just had all of the above in mind and let it out..

Maybe I will change my banner of my jewelry shop again.. but not on the business card.. and the background of my photos.. and the most important thing is that I have to bring back my wedding guide readers to the wedding guide blog that I have by blogging daily with the interesting information as I had done before in this blog.. and more organizing in all businesses I have and my life too..

I love Faux Pearls especially Swarovski Pearls. They are affordable and classy. Not only I use them to create my pieces but also looking from other shops too.. This is one of many shops that use Faux Pearls to make many beautiful accessories: Liz's Wares.

My name is Elizabeth, aka Liz. I've started making jewelry since
i was about 12. I slacked off from making jewelry during high school.
But took it back up again in 2006.

I like to let the beads speak to me. I do this by sitting down with either a pendant,
or set of beads and I begin meticulously laying them out to create a unique piece.

This tends to take an hour or more just planning the layout, then comes the stringing
which is the easy part. I put lot of time and effort into my pieces. I'm always trying
to experiment with new ideas, and supplies.

I started my Etsy because I wanted to share a piece of me with the world.
I like creating my jewelry and didn't want it to just sit around. By selling my works here
on Etsy my pieces can have an adventure as part of YOUR collection.

As you know I'm a save player don't use much of colors.. but Liz's items also inspire me to take a chance too. :D

Yesterday I talked about my supply shop and I told you that I will tell you about my other shop. It's Vintage shop and it's called "Patch Vintage Shop".. In this shop, all of them are from my Mom's closets.. and most of them are tailor-made so they're one of a kind and very unique.. from 60s to 90s..

I'm so happy to tell you that for this August I am a Monthly Featured Artist of EtsyBloggers Team!! Woohoo!!! All teammates will blog about my shops in this month.. ((Cross fingers)) I hope lots of orders will come with this featuring.. and it's my duty to post about the monthly featured artist.. so I will tell you about my other shops.. coz this blog is all about the jewelry items already..

Do you know that I have other shops?? I have one shop called "Patch Supply Shop" sells Packaging stuffs.. the Hot items in this shops are Tiny Plastic Boxes with Round and Square shape.. and just listed last month with Colored Boxes..

Can't believe that I blog more than one post in one day.. that's because I forgot to show you the new photos for Pink Lantern Earrings.. and other items in my jewelry shop

This is the Big Project that I planned for several months.. to find the perfect color backgrounds in my minds and to match the shop theme.. with romance, pastel colors.. but in the real time I got the background that made my items more elegant with the black acrylic plate which is great but not what I dreamed of.. so I combined both in my shop.. select the best pictures to show in my front page..

I was inspired to make more colorful items from the order from my blogger friend - Sharla (aka BeadedTail) and another inspiration of the new color trend that I read in Knot.com. I chose Lantern Earrings for the new color combinations that I wanna try coz I always be in the safe zone with Pearl and Clear Crystal.. :D

Normally, the jewelry inspirations will be from something the jewellers see in the nature.. Flowers, Bugs, anything.. and then they transfer to their jewelry designs.. but I'm not that professional jewelry designer or maker who start from zero.. so my inspirations are from the jewelry parts.. from jewelry supply shops.. sometimes from the real diamond jewelry pieces that I will show you next time.. Normally, I won't be inspired by other Etsy Jewelers because I don't want to copy their works or make something similar.. I don't care what others.. I did care about them but not now.. Why do I tell you about this? Because This Seller is different.. the shop is different.. and inspiring me in so many ways..

The Shop named "BeadedTail"..

Sharla and her mother - Sheri opened shop in December 2007 by the love of creating beaded jewelry to benefit their love for animals since 2007 news reports regarding animal hardships which put them into action for the jewelry and give a portion of the sales to animal awareness causes. While her mom has traded beading for making cute collar covers which are also in her shop.

Here are some of the organizations that they support:

am Happy.. so Happy.. to have this blog as my personal blog for my jewelry and inspiration.. the reason behind the moving wedding guide to another blog is that when I googled the wedding information I recognized that most of the wedding blogs have part of their name about weddings like "Wedding", "Wed", "Bride", "Bridal".. even I used my title name of my post to test in Google.. the website that have a name about wedding is in the several first pages.. and mine is in up to page 10.. so I think this time will be better..

If you are my friends and my fans of all my blogs, you may (..or may not) have a question about What's different between this blog and my Wordpress blog.. Well I'm thinking about this too.. Since the first purpose of Wordpress blog is Everything About Me, I will remain that purpose.. and make this blog as Everything About My Jewelry.. sometimes they'll be same topics but I will try my best to write the difference story..

So please don't leave me.. LOL..

Oh, another topic that I want to share in this blog is that sometimes I found the beaded pattern or anything that inspired me to make my piece.. I want to share with you here.. and some freebies that I make..

Learn to clean and care for your diamond

Shield your ring - Remove it during extended periods of housework or yardwork, and keep it away from cleaners containing chlorine bleach, which can discolor the mounting. Store the ring on its own, in a fabric-lined case or bag.

Be a Savvy Shopper

Ask potential jewelers - If the store's rings come with a certificate from a gem lab, such as the Gemological Institute of America. This vertifies the diamond's characteristics, including the grade and quality of the stone.
When you're interested in diamond - Ask about its "spread". Determined by many factors, including depth, angles and thickness of the stone, the spread is how big the diamond appears. Keep in mind that a one-carat stone should spread 6.5 millimeters wide, and a two-carat diamond should spread 8.2 millimeters.

Once you've purchased the ring - Have an expert appraise its value. This is necessary for insurance purposes.
Avoid conflict diamonds - which are mined from a war-torn region and sold on the black market. The best way to make sure you're not buying one is to ask your jeweler whether his wholesalers support the Kimberley Process, which imposes requirements to ensure gems are ethically mined.

Last time I showed you the shapes of diamond and the 4 Cs.. (Read the previous details - Here!!). This time I will show you the Anatomy of a Diamond.

(1) GIRDLE - The edge formed where the top portion of the stone meets the bottom. It's usually where the prongs of the setting grasp the diamond.
(2) CROWN - The top part of the stone, above the girdle.
(3) TABLE - The flat surface, or face, of the stone.
(4) CULET - The point at the bottom of the stone. The larger the culet, the more visible it is from the top (and the less valuable the stone).
(5) PAVILION - The bottom part of the stone, beneath the girdle.

Diamond Definitions

Brilliance - The amount of dazzling white light reflected from the gem.
Dispersion - The rainbow of colors seen by the eye.
Luster - The amount and quality of light reflected from the diamond's surfaces.
Scintillation - The sparkle when the wearer moves the diamond (a combination of the above three terms).

It's great to have the wedding guides from wedding magazines and weblogs.. but sometimes there still has some problems that the brides and grooms need for help.. I will try my best to collect the interesting questions in Q&A column in different magazines and books in my blog.. You can just type your questions in the search on the right side..

Q: In order to plan our wedding day the way we want it, my fiancé and I have decided to pay for the wedding ourselves. We know our parents are expecting to have control over the plans - they're already talking about what they want - so how do we break the news to them that it's going to be our way?

A: Many parents simply aren't aware that it's become a big trend - and growing closer to the norm - for brides and grooms to plan and pay for their own weddings. So their long-held expectations of the wedding they'll give you, which they may have thought about on the day you were born, could be deeply entrenched. If they're talking about it now, in the way you described, they're probably going to be pretty stunned that they don't get to have their dream their way. Your fears could start to spin out imaginary scenes of how they'll react and how angry they'll be, but you never know how it will go until you're in the moment. What helps is your great diplomacy in how you tell them. Parents do want to be addressed with respect and gratitude, so it would be best to make sure your speech is filled with positives.

Here's your script:

YOU: "Mom, Dad, we can't thank you enough for the engagement present, and it was so exciting to celebrate with you and the family. It was a great way to start this exciting time."
